Biography

With over 40 years of experience in the fire and explosion private forensics industry, Mr. Alcala is a highly skilled consulting professional with a proven track record of providing exceptional service to clients. As an investigator for the insurance industry, manufacturers, and legal communities, he excels at determining the origin and cause of fires, explosions, marine and wild-land fire incidents, and other investigative activities.

Mr. Alcala’s expertise and professionalism make him a trusted expert witness, having testified numerous times at trial and deposition. He has the integrity and skill to deliver solid results that exceed expectations in determining the origin and cause of fire and explosion losses. His systematic approach to all investigations ensures that clients receive the information and documentation necessary to determine the next course of action.

As a bilingual investigator, Mr. Alcala has worked on investigations in many areas of the United States and abroad. During his tenure with Tampa Fire Rescue and the Tampa Police Department, he conducted over 2,400 fire origin and cause investigations and served on a multi-agency federal task force with ATF and the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Mr. Alcala was instrumental in the investigation of many high-profile cases, including those involving serial arsonists, arson for profit, insurance fraud, and homicides.

Mr. Alcala received specialized training in fire and explosion investigations at the Federal Law Enforcement Training, making him a highly trained and skilled professional.
